What is Votiva for vaginal rejuvenation?
Votiva is a medical treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to improve women's intimate health and rejuvenation. It is applied to the vaginal and vulvar area with the aim of improving tissue firmness, the feeling of laxity, dryness and certain intimate discomforts associated with age, childbirth or hormonal changes.
How does it work?
Votiva technology uses controlled radiofrequency applied through handpieces designed for the intimate area. This energy becomes gentle, deep heat in the tissues of the vaginal canal and/or the vulva. Put simply, radiofrequency: Stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the intimate tissues. Improves the firmness and quality of the skin in the treated area. Can support better vaginal lubrication in many cases. Helps the tissues feel more “held” and toned, which can bring a sense of greater intimate comfort.
Benefits
Improvement of vaginal laxity: many women, especially after childbirth or over the years, report a feeling of “looseness” or reduced tone in the vaginal canal. Votiva can help improve that sensation by supporting tissue firmness. Increased firmness of the intimate tissues: both in the vaginal canal and in the vulvar area, radiofrequency can make the skin feel tighter and better structured. Possible improvement of dryness and vaginal comfort: by improving tissue quality and local blood flow, many patients notice less dryness and greater comfort during intercourse or in daily life. Reduction of some mild urine leaks: it helps when the leaks are related to laxity of the supporting tissues. Improved confidence and quality of intimate life: feeling more comfortable with one's own intimate area can have a positive impact on personal confidence, sexual life and the perception of wellbeing.
Types of treatment with Votiva
Internal vaginal rejuvenation
Here the focus is on the vaginal canal and the vaginal opening. The goal is usually to: Improve the feeling of laxity. Support lubrication. Improve comfort during intercourse. Support, in selected cases, the management of mild urine leaks associated with effort (coughing, laughing, exercise).
Aesthetic and functional improvement of the vulva
In some protocols Votiva is used to treat: Labia majora: improving firmness, texture, mild laxity or wrinkling of the skin. Labia minora and vaginal opening: improving the quality of the mucosa, the feeling of dryness or mild discomfort. More than a “radical change” in appearance, the goal is usually for the patient to feel more comfortable with the appearance and comfort of her intimate area.
A single session or a plan of several sessions?
A single session, when the changes are mild or a booster is wanted for a patient who has been treated before. A plan of several sessions, for example 2–3 sessions spaced a few weeks apart, to allow collagen to regenerate and consolidate results.
Areas that can be treated
Vaginal canal: to work on laxity, the feeling of “width” and internal comfort. Vaginal opening: to improve tissue quality and sensation at the start of the canal. Vulva: the external region that includes the labia majora and minora. Labia majora: to improve laxity, texture and the appearance of the skin. Labia minora: to improve lubrication, mild discomfort or a feeling of dryness, always within what radiofrequency allows.
How do you know if you are a candidate?
Changes after pregnancy and childbirth. Changes associated with age or menopause. A feeling of vaginal laxity with no specific cause. Discomfort during intercourse. Small, mild urine leaks related to effort.
